What is it?
Playground buddies is a project that takes place in lots of schools in Brighton and Hove. It’s where children learn to be a playground buddy in their school, which means they help other children feel safe and have fun in the playground.
Who is it for?
If your school is part of the playground buddy project then children from year 5 and/or 6 can apply to become a Playground Buddy.
When does it happen?
Our peer participation worker Charlotte, will arrange with your teachers to come to your school and train up Playground Buddies so they can feel confident in the playground in their new role. It will then be up to your school on how often you take on the position of Playground Buddy.
Some schools have timetables which means you don’t have to be a playground buddy every playtime of every day of the week.
